At the 5th @AfricaCDC Regional Ministerial Steering Committee Meeting for Southern Africa, I welcomed the region's progress in improving health outcomes and strengthening health security. As development assistance declines, now is the time to accelerate Africa's journey towards health sovereignty by increasing domestic health financing, expanding publicly funded health insurance, and investing in local manufacturing of medicines, vaccines and diagnostics. WHO remains committed to working with all governments, Africa CDC and partners to build resilient, self-reliant health systems that protect and promote #HealthForAll.
