Good meeting with Dr Teodoro J. Herbosa, #Philippines Secretary of Health, during #WHA79. We discussed the @DOHgovph’s leadership, with Barbados, Jamaica and other countries, to bolster South-South collaboration on health workforce training and ethical recruitment. I was also grateful for Secretary Herbosa’s appreciation of @WHO’s support to the Filipino crew members of the MV Hondius during the #hantavirus outbreak response. I recognized the Philippines’ steadfast support of WHO, including by financing the Contingency Fund for Emergencies and the WHO Investment Round to support health system strengthening in the Western Pacific.
