Met with @ONURDCongo, health and humanitarian partners operating in #DRC to discuss the response to the outbreak of #Ebola disease caused by the Bundibugyo virus in the country’s east.
We all agreed on the importance of strengthened coordination and collaboration among all partners, in support of the government and communities in Ituri Province, which is most affected by the outbreak.
We also discussed the power of working with community networks, from religious, business and women's groups, to radio and social media influencers, to communicate effective messaging with local people to build trust in measures that can protect everyone from the virus and help contain its spread.
