My thoughts go out to the family, friends, fans and followers of multitalented and multi-platform performer, activist and social commentator Soli Philander who has passed on aged 65.
Soli inhabited our stages and screens with a charismatic and often comedic persona that generated laughs and, just as movingly, lumps in the throat.
He was an energetic creative, a social activist and a friend to many, who remained grounded in his community roots, endeared himself to diverse audiences and fought against inequality and discrimination during and beyond our transition to democracy.
We thank you and we will miss you, Soli.
