Tim Carney was a dedicated diplomat who served his country over seven administrations and in some of the most troubled places in the world. I counted on him as ambassador in both Sudan and in Haiti, and was grateful that he helped lead the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund after the 2010 earthquake. No matter how unstable the political environment and how tense relations could be, Tim always maintained the highest level of professionalism and tenacity, and always believed that diplomacy was the essential key to reducing instability and promoting peace and prosperity. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and his many admirers at home and abroad.
