Two months ago, when @AOC and I proposed an AI data center moratorium, we were called “Luddites.” Now New York is on the verge of passing a moratorium and dozens of localities are doing the same. People understand: AI must work for all, not just oligarchs.

Taxing 50% of AI companies' stock to ensure that AI benefits humanity isn't radical, but let me tell you what is: Since Trump was elected, the 7 richest men in America, all Big Tech oligarchs, became $1.15 trillion richer while 60% live paycheck to paycheck. That's radical.

I will soon be introducing a bill to give the public a 50% ownership stake in the largest AI companies in America. This would guarantee that the trillions created by AI are used to improve the lives of all of us — and block oligarch decisions that harm the American people.

Asked today how he feels about negotiations with Iran collapsing, Trump said, "I couldn't care less." You'd think the president of the United States would care about service members dying and millions paying more for gas because of his illegal and unconstitutional war.

California voters have an important moral decision in November. Will the 200 California billionaires, who got richer under Trump, begin paying their fair share through a one-time 5% wealth tax, or will millions lose their healthcare because of Trump’s cuts? The choice is clear.

Jeff Bezos is seeking $100 billion to put robots into factories. Millions of manufacturing jobs — GONE. Driverless vehicle companies are expanding rapidly. Millions of transportation jobs — truckers, cab drivers, Uber drivers — GONE. We are not ready for what’s coming.
