If induced abortion were counted as a cause of death, it would be the number one cause worldwide—surpassing the combined total of the next ten leading causes. The leading single cause of “recorded” death is ischemic heart disease (approximately 9 million per year). Stroke accounts for around 6–7 million annually. All cancers combined total close to 10 million per year. And so on. Even using the WHO’s older estimate (40–50 million per year), induced abortion would still easily surpass any single cause of death, as well as the combined total of deaths from the next ten leading causes.
