It is with deep sorrow that I learnt of the passing of Ambassador Konjit SineGiorgis who served Ethiopia and Africa with distinction for over 50 years, including as Permanent Representative to the OAU/AU. A steadfast Pan-Africanist, she contributed to shaping AU leadership processes as Chair of the Panel of Eminent Africans and inspired a generation of diplomats, particularly women. I extend my most sincere condolences to the Government of Ethiopia and her family. May her soul rest in perfect peace.
