Israeli far-right Minister Bezalel Smotrich says he was informed that prosecutors at the International Criminal Court (ICC) have confidentially requested international arrest warrants for him and far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir over alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity committed against Palestinians in Palestine's occupied West Bank.
Smotrich called the reported warrants a “declaration of war” and accused the Palestinian Authority of backing legal action against Israeli officials. The reported move follows ICC warrants issued in 2024 for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant over war crimes in Gaza
