Today, I received a courtesy visit at State House from Mr Necephor Mghendi, Head of Delegation for the Dutch and English‑speaking Caribbean of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). Mr Mghendi was accompanied by Guyana Red Cross Society President Teni Housty and other members of the local chapter. Discussions focused on how the Government can support the organisation’s work in Guyana. The IFRC is the world’s largest humanitarian network, supporting local Red Cross and Red Crescent action in more than 191 countries and bringing together over 17 million volunteers for the good of humanity. Minister of Public Service, Government Efficiency and Implementation Zulfikar Ally, also attended the meeting.
