At our initiative, this plenary will hold a debate on the reconstruction of Gaza and Israel’s responsibility under international law. The ongoing tragedy in Gaza goes hand in hand with the deteriorating situation in the West Bank. In 2026, the West Bank is already experiencing the deadliest year on record for settler violence. The next Foreign Affairs Council, on 13 July, has a responsibility to act. The European Union’s inaction is precisely what emboldens Netanyahu to continue crossing every red line of international law.
