At last, environmental offences will be taken seriously: punishable by effective, proportionate and dissuasive sanctions. Today, the 🇪🇺Parliament also voted on prevention measures and international cooperation, in order to address environmental crimes. What's more, neighbouring countries will apply the same criminal law standards as those of the EU. This should improve cooperation, investigations and accountability. The need to protect our environment is is urgent. With today's vote, we are making an important step in the right direction.
