Yrs before #MLKDay became official holiday my parents kept me & siblings out of school&in church for his bday to protest gov’s refusal to recognize him as a National hero. Some teachers respected family’s stand, while others gave us Fs for tests missed.⁦@OfficialMLK3⁩ @cnn
