Masha danki and hopefully see you soon! My visit to Dushi Korsou was one I won’t forget in a hurry. At the Parera naval base, the Commander briefed me on the impact of geopolitical tensions on the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. He also spoke about the important work carried out by the coastguard and the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee in combating drug trafficking and providing assistance during disasters, such as hurricanes. This was followed by a wonderful and, above all, impressive visit to the Tula Museum. Tula was the leader of the largest slave revolt on Curaçao. It is incredibly important that we continue to face up to that dark period in our shared history, honour the heroes of that time and learn from it for our shared future. The Tula Museum brings that story to life and celebrates the proud culture of the island and the region. After an informative meeting on community building in Bandabou, we continued the programme with a visit to the Aqualectra Battery Storage Park. This is a key step towards achieving more sustainable energy consumption on the island.      Of course, a visit to the Blue Wave Fanshop was a must. It’s quite special that two countries of the Kingdom are taking part in the World Cup. It will be Curaçao’s first time, and we all hope they beat Germany in the group stage ;) Many thanks to everyone on the islands who made this wonderful, productive and educational trip possible!
