South Africa is one of our most important partners in Africa, particularly where trade is concerned. We work together in fields such as climate action, cybersecurity and green hydrogen, and we are closely aligned on issues like human rights and gender equality. So with that in mind it was good to get acquainted with President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa today. We discussed the importance of working together, both at bilateral level and in multilateral forums such as the G20 and the United Nations. We also talked about geopolitical issues, including the wars in the Middle East, Ukraine and Sudan.
