The Netherlands and Moldova work together closely in a variety of areas. Today I welcomed @sandumaiamd to the Netherlands to discuss and strengthen our ties. Since the start of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, Moldova has been a key partner for neighbouring Ukraine and the rest of Europe. The Netherlands continues to support Moldova in this regard and therefore backs Moldova’s accession to the EU. Today, we pledged €1.5 million in additional support for Moldova, with a focus on defence cooperation and strengthening Moldova’s cybersecurity and hybrid resilience. Our strong ties offer opportunities for further growth, for example through collaboration in the areas of horticulture and sustainable energy. I look forward to working on this with President Sandu.
