At just 25 weeks pregnant, a routine scan revealed that a rare tumor had developed on the placenta - and was already causing the unborn baby's heart to fail.
With time running out, doctors at @Beilinson_ENG made a decision that had never been made before in Israel: operate on the baby while still inside the womb.
Led by Dr. Yuval Gielchinsky and Kineret Tenenbaum, the team performed an emergency procedure that removed the threat and saved the baby's life.
