Containing an Ebola outbreak takes more than medicine. It takes unity. Today’s exchange with ambassadors and colleagues from donor countries based in the #DRC was a strong reminder of that. We aligned on @WHO’s and partners role in supporting the national response to the Bundibugyo virus outbreak and on what it will take to stop it. The message from partners was clear: the support is there. But so is the understanding that this response must be led by DRC authorities and owned by the communities it serves. We also committed to keeping sight of the bigger picture. #Malaria, safe childbirth, everyday health needs. An outbreak cannot become an excuse to look away.
