He is the spokesperson of the corrupt and revanchist interests concentrated in South Florida which do not represent the feelings of the majority of the US people or the Cubans who live there. He keeps on talking about a 100 million dollars' assistance that Cuba has not refused. His cynicism is evident to anyone when it comes to the devastating effects of the economic blockade and the energy siege. He takes the occasion of the nefarious date of May 20, which marked the neocolonial period for Cuba as an appendix to the US government, which the top US diplomat intends Cuba to go back to. The neocolonial Cuba and the Platt amendment are bygones. Independence and sovereignty are the future.
