🇦🇺 Four ISIS brides and their nine children are returning to Australia
Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke confirmed that the group will travel from Syria and arrive in Australia on Thursday evening. All four women and the children are Australian citizens holding Australian passports.
Many of the women were wives or widows of prominent Australian ISIS members. While some claim they were coerced or lured into joining the group, others are accused of actively supporting ISIS through propaganda, recruitment, and maintaining the terrorist organisation’s social structure.
The women have been named as Zeinab Ahmed, Kawsar Abbas, Zahra Ahmed, and Janai Safar.
Australian Federal Police Commissioner Krissy Barrett said police will be waiting for the group upon arrival.
“Some individuals will be arrested and charged,” she stated.
