According to a ZDF Politbarometer survey published in September 2024, 71% of Germans believe that Germany cannot cope with the large number of refugees in the country.
Only 27% of those surveyed in September 2024 remained optimistic that the country could handle the influx.
The survey followed a high-profile knife attack in Solingen, which intensified national debates over migration and security.
