The United States has carried out strikes on Iranian military targets in response to an attack on American destroyers
U.S. forces intercepted unprovoked Iranian attacks and responded with self-defense strikes while three U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyers, USS Truxtun (DDG 103), USS Rafael Peralta (DDG 115), and USS Mason (DDG 87), were transiting the Strait of Hormuz toward the Gulf of Oman on May 7.
Iranian forces launched multiple missiles, drones, and small boats at the American ships. No U.S. vessels were hit.
CENTCOM reported that American forces neutralized the incoming threats and struck Iranian military facilities responsible for the attack.
