The BBC has announced plans to cut between 1,800 and 2,000 jobs in order to close a £500 million funding gap. This is their largest wave of redundancies since 2011. The BBC loses over £1 billion a year in potential revenue due to a significant increase in British households refusing to pay the compulsory TV Licence fee. Recent reports show a sharp rise in both evasion and declarations that a licence is 'not needed'. The corporation is often accused of left-wing political bias and a lack of impartiality, which is arguably the biggest factor in public dissatisfaction.
