The USS Gerald R. Ford has returned to the Middle East, entering the Red Sea escorted by two destroyers, according to Associated Press, citing U.S. defense officials.
The carrier had spent over a month at Souda Bay following a fire on March 12 in a laundry area.
Previously, the vessel, the largest aircraft carrier in the world, set a U.S. record for the longest deployment in a combat zone since the Vietnam War, taking part in operations in Venezuela and the conflict involving Iran.
