In Tuapse, black “rain” has been reported following a fire at an oil terminal, while authorities claim air quality remains safe.
A dark residue has covered cars, roads, and buildings after a drone strike on a local refinery. Fuel also entered the Black Sea, where a large oil slick of about 10,000 square meters has been observed.
Russian authorities said the fire did not lead to significant air pollution.
Many residents have already begun to evacuate the city on their own.
