🇪🇺🇦🇲 The EU and Armenia are working to deepen cooperation, with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressing Armenia’s clear intention to join the European Union.
Pashinyan spoke about the European integration process launched last year, stressing that the initiative came from the Armenian people, with political forces joining later and turning it into official policy.
He emphasized that no country can become an EU member without meeting the necessary standards. Therefore, Armenia’s main priority is to fulfill these criteria with the help of European partners. Once those standards are met, two paths will open, according to Pashinyan:
“Either we will be accepted into the EU, which is ultimately a political decision. We don’t know yet whether the EU will expand further. If we are accepted, we will be happy. If not, we will still benefit greatly, because we will have met EU standards and gained all the positive outcomes that come with that.”
