Ukrainian long-range drones have struck the Yaroslavl Refinery which with its capacity on 300,000 per day ranks among the top 5 largest refineries in Russia.
The refinery is strategically located 250 km northeast of Moscow and specializes in high-quality, light products rather than just basic distillation.
It produces:
- Gasoline
- Diesel
- Jet fuel
- Fuel oil, bitumen, lubricants, heating oil, sulfur and other petrochemicals.
The refinery is a strategic asset providing fuel for the Moscow region and industrial heartland as well as for the Russian military
The Ukrainian drone strike caused a significant fire, with confirmed damage to a vacuum distillation unit as well as other processing infrastructure.
