China says it will not allow Taiwan to participate in the 79th assembly of the World Health Organization
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiankun stated that the decision was made to uphold the "one-China" principle, asserting that Taiwan has "no right" to participate without the central government's approval.
Taiwan's Health Minister, Shih Chung-liang, called the exclusion a "shame" and confirmed that he will lead a delegation to Geneva anyway.
