Disney cruise ship staffers were among 28 people arrested in a major child pornography operation
Families on vacation were unknowingly surrounded by alleged child predators working aboard the ships, according to law enforcement.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection boarded five cruise ships, including the Disney Magic docked in San Diego, as part of a large-scale operation targeting Child Sexual Exploitation Material (CSEM).
After interviewing 26 suspected crew members, authorities confirmed that all of them were involved in the receipt, possession, transportation, distribution, or viewing of child pornography.
Passengers on the Disney Magic reportedly witnessed immigration officials handcuffing crew members, including at least one server who had been interacting with families just hours earlier.
CBP canceled the suspects’ visas and began removal proceedings from the United States.
