🇩🇰 A new law in Denmark introducing mandatory deportations for foreigners sentenced to one year or more in prison for violent crimes is expected to be passed by the new parliament in the coming months.
The reform overrides interpretations of the European Convention on Human Rights that judges previously used to block deportations of criminals who were considered to have “significant ties to Denmark” or whose human rights could not be guaranteed in their home country.
