A 2024 report by Germany's Federal Criminal Police Office reveals that a Syrian or Afghan migrant was 10 times more likely to be a suspect of a violent crime compared to a German citizen.
In that year, only 163 German citizens were suspected of violent crimes per 100,000 residents, whereas there were 1740 Syrian and 1722 Afghan migrants suspected of violent crime.
