🇰🇵🇰🇷 North Korea has removed the goal of unification with South Korea from its constitution
The country has adopted constitutional amendments that clearly define its territorial borders. The new text states that the DPRK borders China and Russia to the north and the Republic of Korea to the south.
In addition, the clause regarding unification with South Korea has been completely removed.
The previous version of the constitution (Article 9) stated that the DPRK would “strive to reunify the country on the principles of independence, peaceful unification, and great national unity.”
References to the achievements and goals of previous leaders related to national reunification were also deleted.
