President Donald Trump publicly urges the Iranian government to release eight Iranian women facing imminent execution.
He frames it as a necessary gesture of goodwill to begin upcoming diplomatic negotiations.
Sharing a report that included photos of the women, one of whom has been identified as January 2026 uprising protester Bita Hemmati, Trump urges the Islamic regime in Iran to "do them no harm."
"To the Iranian leaders, who will soon be in negotiations with my representatives: I would greatly appreciate the release of these women. I am sure that they will respect the fact that you did so. Please do them no harm! Would be a great start to our negotiations!!! Thank you for your attention to this matter," writes Trump on Truth Social.
