🇦🇪 Interesting speech by the UAE’s Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber at the Make it in Emirates (MIITE) conference.
He spoke on several topics, including how the UAE will emerge stronger and more resilient from Iran’s attacks, the attempted closure of the Strait of Hormuz (which he described as economic terrorism affecting global markets) and the UAE’s decision to exit OPEC.
He argues that these events show just how important it’s to pursue industrial sovereignty and are directly linked to the UAE’s new AI strategy for advanced manufacturing.
According to the Minister, the economies of the future will be built on 3 foundations:
- Energy that powers
- Technology that thinks
- Industry that produces
