🇬🇧🇺🇸 King Charles III has arrived in the United States
The British monarch, accompanied by Queen Camilla, landed at a military base in Maryland as part of his official visit to the US, CNN reports.
The royal couple walked along a red carpet past an honor guard of American service members. A U.S. military band played the national anthems of both countries.
Later, the King and Queen headed to Washington for a meeting with President Trump, the First Lady, and White House officials.
The British monarch and his wife are on a four-day state visit to the United States, timed to coincide with the 250th anniversary of American independence from British rule. It is the first state visit by a British monarch to the US since 2007.
