“European Union, shame on you!”
Activists staged a protest outside the Delegation of the European Union to the US, calling on the bloc to pressure Israel to release members of the Global Sumud Flotilla and suspend its economic partnership with Tel Aviv.
The Israeli military illegally abducted dozens of activists on Wednesday night, many of them European citizens. The operation took place in international waters near the European border, close to the Greek island of Crete, organisers said.
Earlier this month, a petition urging the European Commission to suspend its association agreement with Israel surpassed one million signatures, but Brussels has so far declined to take such action
