Turkish Foreign Ministry:
- Official website of Hellenic Fisheries Inspection Authority reveals that Greece has established fishing bans in areas in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean where it has no jurisdiction, and has published various maps that are contrary to int’l law
- Maps that draw imaginary maritime borders between Türkiye and Greece in the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas, and that violate Turkish maritime jurisdiction in these areas, are invalid
- Illegal restrictions that Greece imposes on fishing activities beyond its 6-nautical-mile territorial waters, in areas and maritime zones where it has no jurisdiction, and in int’l waters, are also null and void for Türkiye
- Türkiye maintains its position that sincere and comprehensive approach should be adopted for resolution of problems based on int’l law, equity and good neighbourliness, within framework of Athens Declaration on Friendly Relations and Good Neighborliness dated December 7, 2023
