Sony AI’s autonomous table tennis robot, Ace, has achieved a major milestone by competing against and defeating top-level human players. In matches released on 16 April, Ace faced elite and professional players under official International Table Tennis Federation rules. A study published in the journal Nature on 22 April detailed Ace’s performances, including victories against professionals in late 2025 and early 2026. It marks a significant advancement in AI and robotics
