rating things based simply on how well they appeal within a certain niche is fine. lots of good publications take that approach.
i don’t, and think that route leads to a lotta albums that wilt in the sunlight getting glazed.
how you should review album is however you like, tho. i’m just glad you guys are taking about why you like what you like.
