#Kyrgyzstan: Authorities have released journalist Makhabat Tajibek kyzy, director of anti-corruption investigative outlets Temirov Live and Ait Ait Dese, after her conviction was overturned. Charges remain in place, however, and a travel ban stays in place.
Her release is a significant step in the right direction for press freedom in Central Asia. CPJ continues to call for authorities to withdraw all charges against Makhabat without delay.
