New York City Councilmember @OsseChi was arrested this week during an eviction protest in the historically Black neighborhood of Bedford-Stuyvesant, where many residents are being targeted for "deed theft," the practice of obtaining people's homes through fraud and deception.
"Communities like mine have not only been seeing rampant displacement and gentrification, but also an attack on homeowners to force them out of their homes."
