Armed men opened fire on a pre-wedding celebration in Kaduna State in northern Nigeria, killing at least 13 people, security and local sources told AFP on Monday.
The attackers struck on Sunday evening during a gathering in the predominantly Christian district of Kagarko, the sources said. “Bandits attacked a wedding ceremony in the village of Kahir… killing 13 people and injuring several guests,” according to a security report prepared for the UN and seen by AFP.
A police spokesperson confirmed the attack but did not provide a detailed casualty toll.
