Had the honour of hosting President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone at State House Nairobi, and welcomed him to Kenya for the Africa Forward Summit that begins on Monday.
Kenya and Sierra Leone maintain strong and close ties anchored on mutual respect, pan-Africanism and regional stability. Our two governments will continue working together to advance our mutual interests and the African agenda.
This includes championing reform of the international financial architecture, global governance especially at the United Nations Security Council, and climate action. The summit provides a suitable forum for the exchange of ideas and views on these issues.
Also informed President Bio of Kenya's candidature for the position of judge of the International Criminal Court. Requested him to favourably consider supporting our candidate, Supreme Court Judge Njoki Ndung'u.
