Kenya and Japan have strong diplomatic and economic ties dating back to our country's independence in 1963 and anchored on development cooperation, infrastructure development, and trade and investment.
We appreciate Japan as a partner and friend, and the two countries will continue supporting the expansion of our collaboration beyond government to include business and people-to-people relations.
More than 120 Japanese companies have invested in Kenya and we continue to encourage more businesses to come to Kenya and participate in public-private partnerships, especially for commercially viable projects.
