We are transforming our nation through projects and programmes that improve the lives of our citizens.
In Kirinyaga County, we are supporting farmers to earn more from coffee, tea, avocado and milk. Next month, we will deliver 13 milk coolers to the county as part of our goal to preserve raw milk quality, reduce spoilage and boost farmers' incomes.
We have invested KSh15 billion to build 4,000 affordable housing units. The Gichugu and Kirinyaga projects are ready for handover.
We have also invested KSh1.5 billion to build 12 modern markets. Three are complete, while hostels to accommodate 4,000 university and college students are under construction. These projects are creating jobs for our youth.
On healthcare, we are equipping county facilities with equipment worth KSh330 million. In Mwea, we will establish a KEMRI research centre, and KSh200 million has been allocated to build a Level 4 hospital in the constituency.
We have also connected 19,000 households to electricity and will connect another 9,500 in the next financial year. Additionally, we have allocated KSh6 billion to complete roads in the county.
