The definitive release of the European Union’s €90 billion support package for Ukraine is a very important step. It’s crucial to Ukraine’s fight for its freedom and therefore to our security too. The Netherlands also welcomes the adoption of the 20th sanctions package to keep up the pressure on Russia.
This afternoon I will be travelling to Cyprus, where this evening and tomorrow I will have further discussions with my European counterparts on support for Ukraine. We will also discuss the situation in the Middle East, the economic impact of high energy prices, and the EU Multiannual Financial Framework.
