Great to be in Fort Myers today to announce that this year’s Gulf red snapper recreational season will be a record-breaking 140 days long.
The 2026 Gulf red snapper summer season will open Memorial Day weekend from May 22 and run consecutively until July 31. Floridians and visitors will have daily red snapper access from September 1 through October 4, then a mix of three-day and two-day weekends into early January. This year’s season will include red snapper on holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day.
