Today in Volusia County, I was proud to announce the groundbreaking of the reconstructed I-95 and U.S. 1 interchange a year ahead of schedule.
Florida has led the nation in economic growth in recent years, and we have prioritized expanding and improving our infrastructure. Through the
Moving Florida Forward initiative, @MyFDOT has expedited critical transportation projects in regions experiencing high population growth.
One of those projects is the modernization of the I-95 and U.S. 1 interchange, to improve traffic flow and relieve congestion on one of Florida’s busiest roadways. We’re also pioneering a new process, Modified Phased Design Build, which is projected to save over $70 million on this project. Those cost savings can then be used to fund other important transportation upgrades for our state.
