Good meeting with Mr Olzhas Bektenov, Kazakhstan @PrimeMinisterEn, on the country’s health system strengthening and commitment to universal health coverage to advance #HealthForAll Kazakhs.
We discussed Kazakhstan’s efforts to prevent and control noncommunicable diseases, and the importance of reducing tobacco and alcohol use, which are major drivers of cancers, heart and lung diseases.
I commended the Prime Minister on Kazakhstan’s leadership on primary health care expansion in the country and globally.
I committed @WHO’s support to Kazakhstan’s UN centre dedicated to implementation of Sustainable Development Goals, and scaled up use of artificial intelligence for health system delivery.
